Insurance & Billing

At McNutt Pediatric Dentistry, our primary responsibility is to your child’s health, not to an insurance company’s reimbursement structure.

We believe families should choose a pediatric dentist based on quality of care, experience, and philosophy, not network contracts. For that reason, our practice is considered out-of-network with dental insurance providers.

Why We Are Out-of-Network

Dental insurance can be a helpful benefit. However, insurance plans often influence treatment recommendations and reimbursement structures.

By remaining independent of insurance contracts, we are able to:

  • Provide care based solely on your child’s needs
  • Recommend treatment without insurance limitations
  • Offer thoughtful, customized care plans
  • Maintain consistent and transparent fee structures

Many families are surprised to learn that our fees are often comparable to — and sometimes lower than — offices that are contracted with insurance plans.

Our focus is always on long-term health and personalized care.

How Payment Works

Our goal is to be transparent, supportive, and solution-oriented.

We ask that payment be made at the time of your child’s visit. This allows us to keep our administrative processes simple and focused on patient care rather than insurance negotiations.

We understand that dental treatment can sometimes create financial strain, especially for families with multiple children. When needed, our team is happy to discuss flexible payment arrangements that do not include finance charges or interest.

What If I Have Insurance?

If you carry dental insurance, we are happy to assist you.

Although we are out-of-network, our team will:

  • Collect your insurance information
  • Submit claims on your behalf
  • Provide the documentation required for reimbursement

Your insurance company will typically reimburse you directly within 2–3 weeks, depending on your specific plan.

Many families find that even with out-of-network reimbursement, they are able to receive meaningful benefits.

A Practice Philosophy Built on Trust

Our decision to remain out-of-network reflects our long-standing commitment to family-centered care.

We have served Nashville families for over 37 years, and we believe parents deserve clear communication, honest recommendations, and treatment plans designed around their child, not an insurance policy.

If you have questions about coverage, reimbursement, or payment options, we encourage you to call our office at (615) 383-0171. Our team is always happy to walk you through the details.
